Quinten Maritime Solutions is an independent maritime service business based in Schiedam, the Netherlands. The company combines practical technical work on yachts and onboard systems with professional operational experience, allowing technical problems to be approached from both an engineering-minded and an operator’s perspective.
The focus is on technically sound, practical solutions: understanding the actual problem, agreeing a sensible scope and carrying out the work properly rather than simply replacing parts or reproducing an existing setup.
Professional maritime background
Quinten’s background spans professional seagoing operations, LNG/LPG vessel operations and ship-to-ship bunkering, alongside hands-on work on motor yachts, sailing yachts, passenger vessels and traditional vessels. This experience brings together vessel operation, safety, maintenance, troubleshooting and technical project work.
Professional qualifications include Chief Mate Unlimited and an EU Qualification Certificate as Boatmaster. The operational background extends from ocean-going commercial shipping to inland navigation and professional skipper assignments.
Technical & practical experience
Current work through Quinten Maritime Solutions includes marine electrical systems, LiFePO4 and Victron installations, diagnostics, mechanical maintenance, structural GRP and composite repairs, technical yacht inspections, refit support and professional skipper services.
Selected maritime training and subject-matter expert assignments are also carried out through established training partners, including Simwave.
How I work
QMS is an on-location service. Work is carried out aboard vessels and at marinas and shipyards rather than from a public workshop. For larger or specialist jobs, the scope, access, materials and expected costs are discussed before work starts.
Services are focused primarily on motor and sailing yachts, with selected commercial vessel assignments undertaken where the project and qualifications are a good fit.
